Pakistan Making Waves At Milan Fashion Week
It is really very exciting to see that Haitian-Italian
designer, Stella Jean’s visit to Pakistan earlier this year led to a
unique collection, heavily inspired by our rich Pakistani culture.
It will showcase at Milan Fashion Week on 21 September.
Stella will bring many things Pakistani to the MFW ramp. Pakistani design elements: impressed by the embroidery of the women from the rural mountainous areas of Chitral, Kalash and Hunza, Stella Jean chose to incorporate their craft and designs in her S/S 20 collection. Secondly, she asked a well-known jewellery designer Sherezad to lend her gorgeous jewels for the event. Finally, two stunning Pakistani models Muskh Kaleem and Alicia Khan will walk the ramp for Stella Jean. An exciting opportunity for all and a fantastic collaboration.
Stella came to Pakistan on the invitation of His Excellency Mr Nadeem
Riaz, Ambassador of Pakistan in Italy. The visit was organized in
collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development
Organization (UNIDO), under the patronage of the Ministry of
Commerce. Empowering women in Pakistan’s rural area was a focus, keeping
in view the UN’s Strategic Development Goals (SDGs).
