📌 Five Major CCD Punjab Encounters in 2025
1. Lahore – Nishtar Colony Kidnap Attempt (June 1, 2025)
In early June, CCD Punjab intercepted a group of suspected kidnappers riding motorcycles into Lahore from Kasur. The suspects, allegedly involved in a ransom scheme, refused to stop at a police checkpoint. What followed was a brief but intense shootout. One of the suspects was killed on the spot, while the remaining two managed to flee under the cover of chaos. The operation prevented what could have been another tragic abduction case in the city.
2. Lahore – Kahna Armed Attack on Police Van (July 3, 2025)
During an evidence recovery mission, CCD officers were ambushed in the Kahna area. The suspects being transported, a father-son duo—Fazalur Rehman and Ameer Abass—were linked to over 100 serious criminal cases, including robbery and extortion. Their accomplices opened fire on the police convoy, triggering a deadly exchange. Both suspects were fatally shot—reportedly by bullets from their own side—before the attackers fled the scene. This event highlighted the deep network and desperation of organized criminals in the region.
3. Shahdara, Lahore – Fatal Ambush During Prisoner Transfer (July 3, 2025)
On the same day, in another part of Lahore, CCD was moving a suspect named Tahir, involved in several robbery cases. As the convoy moved through Shahdara, it was targeted by armed men attempting a rescue. In the gunfire that erupted, Tahir was killed. His body was later shifted for post-mortem examination. The attackers escaped, and the incident raised urgent questions about how criminal gangs track and attempt to free their captured members.
4. Okara – Gun Battle on Jabooka Road (July 2–3, 2025)
A nighttime patrol in Okara turned deadly when CCD officers came under fire from armed riders on Jabooka Road. The police responded with force, killing two suspects—identified as Ali Sher Wattoo and Sadi Meer Alam—both of whom had long criminal histories, including dozens of robbery and violence cases. Two other gang members managed to escape under the cover of darkness. The encounter was a stark reminder of the risks police face, even during routine patrols.
